Martial Arts Principles - Chief Instructor Tye Duguay

Tye Duguay

Chief Instructor for Martial Arts Principles Inc.

I began training in Martial Arts at the age of five and have been training with Sensei Paul since the age of fifteen.

I earned my Junior Black Belt in 1997 at the age of ten. At fifteen, after beginning training with Sensei Paul, I earned my First Degree Black Belt and in 2005 I earned my Second Degree Black Belt. I earned my Third Degree in November 2009.

Sensei Paul is one of my biggest mentors and has helped me find other instructors who are helping me to find excellence in the Martial Arts. Our change to Mixed Martial Arts, study with Tom Sotis in AMOK and also our study in BJJ has also greatly improved my understanding of Martial Arts and true self-defense.

My goals currently are becoming a Trainer in the system of AMOK and Control Force and earning a blue belt ranking in BJJ.

I am the primary teacher of all the child and teen classes and nothing gives me more pleasure than to be able to improve the confidence of our students. I look forward to one day opening up my own dojo and expanding the teachings we offer at Martial Arts Principles Inc.

Currently I am about to enter my senior year in Keene State College were I have been studying education, psychology and health and fitness. I plan on graduating with a degree in Health Promotion and Fitness and a minor in Psychology. I feel that the topics I am learning in school greatly influence the things I teach at Martial Arts Principles and in turn greatly benefit our students in their quests to live healthier lives.
