Martial Arts Principles, Inc. Testimonials
"Martial Arts Principles has been my second home for six years now. I love the practicing, and teaching the martial arts. Every day I come in and help change the lives of my students and they effectively change mine.
After taking martial arts since I was five and teaching since I was fifteen I can honestly say from personal experience that martial arts is the single most effective activity that changes the lives of everyone it touches. I can also say after going to many schools to study from I can guarantee that Martial Arts Principles is highly qualified at helping people change their lives.
I myself have become significantly more confident and happy. I have developed determination and focus and over the years become a much more goal oriented person. In addition I have stayed in great shape through my college years.
Martial Arts Principles not only challenges me mentally and physically but it gives a place where I know I will be accepted for who I am.
To put it bluntly Martial Arts Principles is Awesome and I wouldnt trade my last 6 years here for anything. If anything I wish they where here when I was younger."

"Approximately 2 1/2 years ago my son was enrolled in martial arts here to improve his focus. One of his teachers thought that he displayed some attention disorder qualities and felt we should have him screened. We felt that we would first be proactive before going towards labeling him. In the time he has been here my son has improved in so many ways. He is going into second grade, and at the close of his first grade year his first grade teacher said she could not believe that he ever had any focus issues. He has developed confidence and coordination, as well as the knowledge and ability to know when to say no, which is was very hard for him. Going to class is part of his life, he never says he doesn't want to go. He has developed friendships that have a bond of hard work and dedication. One of the hardest things to describe is the incredible role models that he has for him. Eating healthy, hard work, patience, and caring are just a few of the traits that he has picked up from the staff and high ranks there. Sensei Paul and Sensei Tye have been incredible with him. They go above and beyond everyday they come in. Others like Sensei Eryanna, Colt, and Chloe have made an impact by the everyday kindness they display towards him, and they may not even know it.
About two weeks after my son started I attended a free Women's Self Defense Seminar. I had a great time and knew that I wanted more. I currently have my Reccomended Black Belt in MMA, Purple Belt in Kick Boxing, a member of AMOK, a Leadership Team member, Birthday Party Coordinator, and Assistant Instructor. So as you can see I am biased, but my story is one of transformation as well. I joined with low self confidence, a quite voice, over weight, and not always someone people like being around. I now have much more confidence in my self in all areas of my life. I walk tall and speak clearly. During out drills in class I can hear my voice above all the others. My attitude is positive. I am happy! I didn't know I wasn't, until I got to the place where I am now, and the difference is amazing. I have lost over 50 lbs and dropped from a size 11/12 jeans to a 3 / 4. I know all of this took a lot of hard work on my part, but without the support and patience of Sensei Paul and Sensei Tye and all of Dojo Family this would not have happened.
Many of us at martial Arts principles use the phrase Dojo Family. These words are not just said, they are truly meant. We love our dojo, our teachers, our team, our friends, our children, and what we teach."

"The four of us have been here for over three years.
I watched my daughter during her first advanced class and was worried it would be too much for her. We use the thumbs up or down to express how we like or dislike a situation.I really saw her challenged and thought this could be her last class. I tentatively gave her the thumbs up, she was red faced, sweaty and exhausted. She looked at her thumb, then the other thumb and smiled and said" I don't have enough thumbs for how great that was."

"Martial Arts Principles is where I charge my batteries.
Not long ago I had a lifestyle that I was not happy with. I was a smoker and I drank and I was in a relationship that was not healthy and I didn't even realize it. I was taking what I was given from life and I felt like I couldn't do much about it.
The principles that are taught at Martial Arts Principles are essential tools for happiness.
I have learned to take care of myself (and thus my family) on a deeper level. We practice continual improvement of mind, body, and spirit. To realize this connection and develop it is to grow through life as opposed to going through it.
Every class and every lesson has immediate and lifelong value.
Since I have developed my skills in Martial Arts and Mindfulness I have become much more confident and competent. I am an example that I want to be for my children and I am getting what I want out of life.
Thanks to Martial Arts Principles, the genuine vision, the dedication of our ever evolving community, and the principles of leadership, I am great and getting better.
Until I personally experienced this life transformation it was just dream, a hope, and a desire.
-One Improved Life
-One improved Family"

"One of the things I love about Martial Arts Principles is that there is so much more than a physical workout. The challenge is also an internal one that allows you to recreate yourself from the inside out. I never imagined that martial arts would have such a positive effect on me. My only regret is that I didn't join sooner.
"Before attending Martial Arts Principles I was definitely in a slump. I had no energy and as an artist and I found myself uninspired. For the first time in a long time I feel re-energized and inspired and I look forward to the challenge that every class holds for me."
